J.J. has a long history of film production experience, mostly consisting of short films and documentary work. He's skilled in writing, directing, editing, cinematography, and film performance. In 2012, J.J. was a finalist in the American's Next Great Comedy Screenwriter Competition for his half-hour sitcom "Stages". In 2011, his production of "The American Wild West Adventure" in the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project was awarded Best Writing, Best Acting, and Runner-Up Film honors. He's created informational videos for a number of organizations including The National Writing Project, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, and YouMedia Learning Labs. Currently, J.J. is producing a documentary for the Allegheny County Coalition for Recovery focused on combating the negative stigmas surrounding mental health disorders.
